As we look forward to the coming year, we not only have to think about how we are going to build on our success during 2021, but also how we continue on our journey over the next 50 years. I believe that we marked our big anniversary year in true Al Masaood style – with appropriate pride and flourish, but also with our trademark humility and gratitude for the success that our nation’s leaders, customers, partners and you, our employees have helped us to achieve.

Some years loom large in history. Both 2020 and 2021 did, each in their own different ways. 2020 has seen unprecedented challenges that have brought us together and unified us even more. And like the saying goes, after every crisis, there lies opportunities. 2021, was a year where we emerged stronger together. I don’t mean this by the slogan sense of the word, but rather by the fact that AMA has outperformed itself.

Following the extraordinary challenges of 2020, the resilience and rapid adaption skills of our employees could be refocused and we entered 2021 in good shape, immediately recording strong commercial and financial results. The lessons learned from 2020 were still useful to keep all of us safe, but I believe a new working dimension has developed across the Group. Building on 4 years of reengineering operations under the new Board, overcoming challenges and working as One Team has become a reactive instinct in us all.

I would like to start my message by thanking you for the dedicated and valuable work that you have all contributed to Al Masaood over the past year.  We have needed to factor a ‘new normal’ into how we do business, and we are still having to face and manage new challenges that were not there before the pandemic. The individual leadership and the team spirit have served us well and I am grateful for and confident that this will continue and develop.

The year 2022 is just around the corner. Filled with hope and anticipation of what’s to come, we are all excited to welcome the new year. But before we say goodbye to 2021, let me take this opportunity to share with you some of the milestones in our efforts this year to build a more robust and vibrant partnership with the government.
